The Q&A section on your Google profile, and why you should control it

Anyone can ask, and anyone can answer, questions on your Google profile. If you're not managing it, a stranger might be answering for your business.

Your Google profile has a Questions and Answers section, and here's the part that surprises owners: anyone can post a question, and anyone can answer it, including random members of the public. If you're not watching it, a competitor or a confused stranger could be giving wrong answers about your own business, right where customers are deciding.

Answer questions yourself, fast

When a real customer asks something, a quick official answer from you builds trust and stops anyone else jumping in with a guess. Google also highlights questions with answers, so an active Q&A makes your listing look more helpful than a silent one.

Seed the common questions

You're allowed to post and answer your own questions, so use it. Add the things customers always ask, parking, payment methods, whether you take walk-ins, and answer them clearly. You're effectively building a mini-FAQ right on Google, which also helps you match more searches.

Monitor it so nothing rots

An unanswered question sitting for months, or worse a wrong public answer, quietly costs you customers. Checking the section regularly means you catch and fix these before they do damage. Most owners don't even know it exists, let alone check it.
